Apple has kicked back 4.0 to us a few times now.  This is very frustrating for us, as we had a very difficult problem figuring out what was causing a problem for their testers.  However, they're just doing their job, and we're thankful that they're catching problems before they reach you guys.

We think we have the problem figured out (although we won't know until they get around to testing it again) and if so, 4.0 will be available later this week.  If there's still a problem, it could take longer.

On the bright side -- we haven't been sitting around idle during this long period of waiting.  Development has continued, so when 4.0 is released, it'll really be more like 4.7 or 4.8.  We've added so many new things to 4.0, we ran out of space in the "what's new in this version" box and had to edit our listing to make it fit when we uploaded the latest version.

Our beta program has been going extremely well, and we have many beta testers working out bugs in the new features and suggesting better ways to do things.  We can't wait until everybody has a chance to see 4.0!

We're starting a limited Beta program, where we distribute copies of the Mantis Bible Study development release to selected users in order to get their input and feedback.  This is a very limited program.

If you are interested in becoming a part of our Beta test program, please email us at support.  Be warned, that Beta software, while sometimes cool and full of cutting-edge features, can also be frustrating, buggy, and downright time-consuming.  If you want to be a part of this program, you'll need to be a patient type of person who is also willing to communicate exactly what's going on with the program.

This morning we released a very minor update to the MacArthur Study Notes pre-release.  It fixes some formatting issues where there were extra unnecessary line breaks.  We've also noticed that if you click on any of the 4 "extra" books set up for the new upcoming-features such as Introduction, Appendices, Concordance, or Tables, it causes a crash.  We're working on fixing this, but for now, the solution is -- don't click there!

To get this minor update to the MacArthur Study Notes, simple delete it from your bookshelf and download it again.

We're testing a new feature -- the ability to edit the notes you have backed up to the web site.  This is BETA SOFTWARE -- so only try it if you're willing to have all your notes wiped out.

Now, that's probably not going to happen, but if it does, remember -- we warned you.

So you want to try it?  Just log into the web site and click on "My Account" then "My Notes Editor."

This will bring up any notes you have saved on our server.  You can edit these notes here on the web site.  You can even cut and paste them into your favorite editor or word processor.

Click save to save your changes, then restore the notes back to your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Apple has kicked back our 4.0.0 release for technical reasons, and we have re-submitted it.  As a bonus, some bug fixes have been included in our resubmitted version, as well as a pair of big bonus features.  We'll let you guess at what those might be until Apple releases it...

Today we released Brown-Driver-Briggs' Hebrew Definitions, part of a series of Hebrew products we plan to release over the next few days. 

We've just sent our first "branded" edition up to Apple for review.  This is basically our 4.0 software with the NASS (and KJV) texts.  It works exactly like our standard version, and will mix and match with any products you buy from us.  There is no functional difference between buying this product from Apple and downloading the free version and purchasing the NASS module from us.  It's merely a convenient way to get started with the NASS version of Mantis.

You can get a free update now that fixes words in the original languages (Greek and Hebrew).  To get the update, just find the item in your bookshelf, delete it, then download it again.

Phew.  Another major release has been uploaded to Apple.  While there are no guarantees, in the past, easy new version has required about one week to process before it became publicly available.  If this holds true, look for 4.0.0 next weekend, between December 12 and 14.
