I can't seem to move bookmarks. Here's what I try:

1. Click 'Edit'
2. Tap verse
3. Click 'Bookmark'
4. Select bookmark destination
5. Click 'Move Bookmark'
6. Click 'Done'

It doesn't move.

There was a bug that prevented bookmarks from being moved in 4.7.0, I think, that was resolved in 4.7.1.

Are you getting the message "You can't move a folder inside itself!"?

Which version of Mantis are you using? I just tested with the free version from the App Store (4.7.1) and I can move bookmarks without a problem.

I'm using 4.7.1 - Tools >> Options >> About Mantis Bible Study. Should I uninstall and reinstall? How would I keep my bookmarks and notes?

I wouldn't reinstall now, 4.8.0 has a problem on the iPhone.

That's really odd that it works for me. Are you using the free version of Mantis, or a special version, such as NIV, NLT, etc?

I don't recall installing a special version. How would I know?

Tools, Options, About Mantis (way at the bottom.) This will tell you the version of Mantis you are running. If it's the KJV version, then you just have the free version.

Very odd, then, as I am able to move them just fine using that version. Maybe try backing up using the Backup button in the Bookmarks screen, then clear them all (at the bottom of the Tools, Options screen there's an option to delete all bookmarks or notes, etc.) Then enter one or two bookmarks and create a folder and see if it's working for you.

After that you can restore your backup -- this will isolate whether the problem is with your backup file, or with a specific folder.

Resolved -

1. I backed up the bookmarks
2. Cleared all of them
3. Created 2 new bookmarks and 2 new folders
4. Moved the bookmarks to the folders successfully
5. Cleared all the bookmarks
6. Restored the bookmarks

Everything is working as expected. Thanks for your persistence!
