Would love to have the NAB, or any other catholic version.

We are working on the NAB, among others.  The NAB has a new text version coming out later this year, and we hope to have that one.

Right now, we have the Douay-Rhiems version available.  The Apocrypha books won't be available for that until 2.0 ships, though.  The NRSV and RSV are in the same boat -- both have the full set of books available, but today, only the OT and NT are included, when 2.0 comes out, the AP will be available.

Thank you for your reply,  if I buy the RSV now, when 2.0 comes out I could upgrade it without paying again?

Absolutely.  Updates to the NRSV, RSV, and DRM will all be free.

Hi, you said the new text version was coming out later in 2008. Any timeline when it will be available ? Also will it include the footnotes / commentary as is on the Vatican website. I see OliveTree have a version out for $27.99, but I have all Mantis Bibles at the moment (over $100 invested in your excellent product), so do not want to switch.

Also the Haydock bible ? Any news on whether this will be added to your product offerings ? It also has footnotes / commentary.

God Bless,

Hal.

We contacted the publisher of the NAB just after Thanksgiving, and they told us the new text had been delayed.  They didn't give us any indication how long, but we'll continue to check back with them.

I don't know about the Haydock Bible, but it sounds promising.  We'll try to make that available.

We contacted the publisher a couple of weeks ago and were told that the text was undergoing another revision.  It will not be released until at least June.  This is frustrating, because initially we were given a November, 2008 release date.  Anyhow, they certainly want to get their revisions correct, and we cannot fault them for that!

Any news on NAB?
What about other Catholic translations like -
The Jerusalem Bible
New Jerusalem Bible
Christian Community Bible Catholic Pastoral Edition?
Any Catholic commentaries in the pipeline? Jerome? or Haydocks?
Finally any update on Catechism of Catholic Church.

Thanks for your help. Love the Mantis App.

We just heard two days ago that the NAB text has been delayed again until the latter part of 2009. (They are reviewing the Psalms, I believe.)

We have also looked into the NJB, but so far have not had a response from the publisher. I'm not sure about any of the others on your list at this point.
